Hey there guys! Where have I been!??? I know it has been forever since I have posted, and I am so sorry for that. I have recently moved back to Atlanta as well as started working two part time jobs. Needless to say, January and February have been absolutely crazy! Thankfully I have gotten back into a schedule and have started to develop some normalcy in the madness that is my life. Getting back in the gym has really helped me with that. Working out and staying healthy really helps me to find some balance to my crazy and often busy schedule. Cutting out that time for myself helps me stay sharp and focused in every area of my life.
I often find that having a good workout is often affected by my outfit. Athletic wear can make or break a decent workout. You want something functional, moveable, and (let’s be honest) FLY! Looking the part at the gym makes me want to smash my workout even more. I’m the type of person that buying workout clothes make me want to work out. Athletic-wear can be fun to style because there aren’t any rules anymore. It is no longer bound by functionality alone. Athletic companies have been doing an awesome job lately of incorporating new styles, fits, and embracing bold and crazy patterns into their clothing. Why should you invest in gym wear? Simply put, because it’s a direct investment into encouraging yourself towards better health and a better life.
I feel frumpy in basketball shorts and I can’t stand working out in sweat pants, because I almost immediately start overheating; that was until I found running leggings. They can add functional warmth as well as style to a look without getting too hot. Leggings have been embraced in the fitness community with everyone from newbies doing Zumba to your die hard Crossfitters. Why not have some fun with your workout wear? Make sure though, when you venture into the realm of running leggings, that you make sure and remember your basic rules such as your complimentary colors. You can never go wrong with all black but I really enjoy mixing it up with bright colors and patterns. Just make sure you keep the look from verging on clownish before you get on the treadmill.
Lately, I have also really been enjoying incorporating athletic inspired pieces into my daily wear; they add a cool urban twist to any basic look. Check out classic brands like Adidas, Nike, and Underarmour for great pieces to incorporate into your dope new gym look. Ultimately these are just clothing pieces, but for those of us that really love fashion and style, clothing has a direct effect on how we go about our daily lives. They visually reflect our mood and attitude on most days. When it comes to the gym and my health, I want people to know that I am dedicated and serious about my well-being. So on that note, go suit up and go smash your next yoga session, cardio circuit, and bless your heart if it is leg day.
